Kiwi Girls Carve Up The Snow On Chicks Day Out

Kiwi Girls Carve Up The Snow At The Oakley Chicks Day Out

Leading sportswear and eyewear brand, Oakley, brought some of the world's coolest sportswomen out to New Zealand exclusively for 'OAKLEY Chicks Day Out'. The event took place at Snowpark near Queenstown on Saturday 8 September.

Oakley Chicks Day Out is a day just for girls, whereby 50 lucky participants were either invited or won a chance to come an experience a 'money can't buy' day on the slopes with some of the hottest snow sportswomen from the US.

Professional snowboarder and halfpipe 2006 Olympic silver medallist Gretchen Bleiler, and champion freeskiier Kristi Leskinen from the Oakley Women's Snow Team were flown out especially for the event to give the girls instruction and feedback on their moves and teach them new tricks to progress their riding.

Following a tough but rewarding morning on the slopes the girls relaxed over an après-ski BBQ and drinks to the funky tunes of Oakley's talented female DJ, Lara Charlotte. They were then whisked off to let their hair down in one of Queenstown's hottest venues.

Snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler of the Oakley Women's Snow team said; "We had such a great time here in New Zealand. The girls really responded well to our coaching and we hope we can come back again soon."

Oakley's Public Relations Manager for Australasia, Kristi Townley, added; "The day was all about having fun in the snow. Nothing is better than getting a group of like-minded, young women together, and just letting them do what they love to do! This is the first time we've bought Oakley Chicks Day Out to New Zealand, and it was such a great success, we're looking forward to doing it even bigger and better next year."

Each Oakley 'chick' received a free pair of Stockholm: Oakley's first snow goggle specifically designed for women, aimed at girls who want to keep up with the guys on the slopes, but not look like one! Oakley is also launching their second women's 'Uniquely Collection' of sport-inspired fashion sunglasses.

Oakley is a renowned snow brand offering premium products and sponsorship to world class athletes.
