‘Glamour town’ welcomes jazz icon Bonnie Jensen

Queenstown’s threesixty restaurant plays exclusive host to popular international jazz performer and native New Zealander Bonnie Jensen, on Saturday 20 October.

During the only supper performance she’ll give in the 2007 ASB JazzFest, Bonnie and other renowned musicians will entertain with a sassy, sultry blend of jazz vocals and beats.

Bonnie said she’s excited about her trip to Queenstown, which she described as a ‘glamour town’.

“I'm truly looking forward to coming home to New Zealand. I think of Queenstown as a ‘glamour town’ and it’s honestly one of my favourite places in the world. It’s also one of the only other places in the Southern Hemisphere I wouldn't mind living!” said Bonnie.

For one night only, threesixty will transform into a New York styled jazz supper club featuring this wonderful act.

The atmosphere and music will be complemented by a special Asian fusion supper featuring dishes from executive chef, Joji Iwama, including salmon and tuna sashimi, Yum Cha boxes, wild mushroom pâté, and cured salmon and watercress crème fraiche.

“I've only really been to New Zealand for recreational purposes in the past few years as I have used Sydney as a base since the early 90's, also performing repeatedly in Japan, Hong Kong and Europe,” added Bonnie.

“On this trip to Queenstown I’m bringing some of my favourite Australian musicians with me, in particular, Jeremy Sawkins, a compelling guitarist who collaborated with me on my last two albums.”

Tickets for Bonnie Jensen’s special supper show are available for $35 from threesixty Restaurant on 03 442 5 360, eat@threesixtyrestaurant.co.nz or the Crowne Plaza Queenstown reception on Beach Street.

threesixty will also host free performances from jazz legends James Schneider and Jessie Sparks on Friday 19 October at 7:30pm, and Zak Pak on Sunday 21 October at 7:30pm.
