Nathan Haines Album Tour 2008

Nathan Haines Album Tour 2008

Tamawaipara

And UK Guests Vanessa Freeman & Mike Patto

Released on December 6, Right Now blends jazz, soul, fusion and dance into one amazing package, which Nathan will be taking live to the stages and festivals of New Zealand this summer.

UK performer Vanessa Freeman will join singer Tama Waipara upfront on vocals, with acclaimed producer Mike Patto (Reel People) on keyboards, locals Dixon Nacey (guitar), Jnr Turua (bass) and Mickey Ututaonga (drums) with Puerto Rican born percussionist Miguel Fuentes providing authentic latin sounds and experience from 20 years of touring the US and Europe with the likes of Grover Washington and Patti Labelle.

The band recently performed at London’s Jazz Cafe to a capacity crowd, and last years NZ tour with the same line-up cemented Nathan and the bands reputation as one of the funkiest danceable acts around. After 10 years of living in London and collaborating with the likes of Phil Asher (who produced Nathan’s gold-selling album Squire for Hire), Jamiroquai (Nathan played sax and flute on JK’s Dynamite album) and performing at international festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, London’s Ronnie Scotts, and the Tokyo Blue Note Club, Nathan has bought his sophisticated sound to New Zealand stages with this band for the third year running.

Other guests on Nathan’s Right Now album include soul legend Marlena Shaw, British rapper TY, as well as Vanessa Freeman and Tama Waipara on vocals. Nathan Haines joins his 8 piece band including two long term UK collaborators for the release and NZ tour of his highly anticipated 6th solo album
