LA Mitchell 'Live at the Matterhorn'

LA Mitchell 'Live at the Matterhorn'

Since the colossal success of Fat Freddy's Drop's 'Live at the Matterhorn' critics and fans have been awaiting another quality production from the Matterhorn assembly.  The wait is now over...

LA Mitchellaka Lauren Anne Mitchell is booked to perform and record live at the Matterhorn on Wednesday, 23 April, accompanied by her 6-piece band of gifted musicians and vocalists in a genuinely intimate and exclusive setting.

The soul and jazz tinged music of LA Mitchellhas already proven to be an ideal fit with the feel and traditions of the Country's foremost establishment of food, cocktail, and creative culture, and the historic live recording should undoubtedly become another one of New Zealand's seminal performances.

The Christchurch based musician released her debut album, Debut, in September 2007.  Nick Bollinger in a review on The Sampler commented, "There's no question that LA Mitchell's Debut introduces a very talented and creative musician. The grooves, the singing, the whole production are really impressive... We'll be hearing a lot more of LA Mitchell."

Fat Freddy's Drop 'Live At The Matterhorn' was recorded and released in 2001.  The original under the radar release, capturing a jam session at Wellington's den of iniquity features four songs spanning 70 minutes. The album has sold x1 Platinum sales in Aotearoa/NZ purely through word of mouth.
