The finalists for the Hair Expo Hairdressing Awards 2008 have been announced with stylists from Wellington and Auckland dominating the shortlist for the highly coveted title of Hair Expo New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year.

The ultimate accolade in hairdressing is guaranteed to end up in one of the two cities with all four of this year’s finalists based in either Wellington or Auckland.

The 23rd annual Hair Expo will take place in Sydney, Australia on June 7th-9th. The Australian Hairdressing Awards celebrates the most exciting talent and achievements in Australian and New Zealand hairdressing, with 13 prestigious awards, including; Hair Expo New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year, Colour Technician of the Year, Salon Team of the Year and Young Entrepreneur 2008.

Brian Thomas, Event Director Hair Expo Australia said: “These awards are an incredible showcase, not only of the individual talent of the finalists and winners, but also of the internationally high standard of Australian and New Zealand hairdressing. Looking at the creativity and innovation on display, and listening to the feedback of the judges, Australian and New Zealand hairdressing is, without a doubt, amongst the best in the world.”

The finalists in each category face an anxious wait with the winners set to be announced in June at the salon industry’s most eagerly anticipated event, Hair Expo 2008.
