Matariki Celebration Dinner at Orakei Marae

Matatiki is a time for New Zealand to celebrate new beginnings . On Saturday June 21st, for the first time, New Zealanders of all races are invited to the exquisite Orakei Marae for a unique and authentic marae experience. The evening will comprise of a formal meal with entertainment and will the only event of its type to be held in this setting, a setting that is both beautiful and of huge historical importance to Kiwis.

The aim of this unique celebration is to amalgamate all cultures of New Zealand / Aotearoa, challenging common "touristic" misconceptions of Marae experiences and food. In keeping with Marae protocol this will be an alcohol free event.

Entertainment will be provided by such outstanding talents as Betty Anne and Ryan Monga (Ardijah), Ngatapa Black and Te Puru o Tamaki and Selwyn College Kapa Haka groups.

Tickets for the evening are $40 and are only available by contacting Donna Tamaariki(details below).
