Squads for 2008 season announced

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

The New Zealand Ice Hockey League squads for the 2008 Season have officially been announced today are are available online at the NZIHL website www.nzihl.com

As from today tickets for all 30 games will also be available for sale through TicketDirect.

The NZIHL is in its fourth season this year and consists of 5 Teams competing over 10 rounds to be crowned

New Zealand Ice Hockey League Champions for 2008.

The Teams are:

Botany Swarm / Paradice Botany, Auckland
Canterbury Red Devils / Alpine Ice, Christchurch
Dunedin Thunder / Dunedin Ice Rink, Dunedin
TicketDirect Southern Stampede / Queenstown Fun Centre, Queenstown
West Auckland Admirals / Paradice Avondale, Auckland

The NZIHL teams are predominantly made up of New Zealand players, but each team is able to import

seven players from outside of New Zealand and the league has been lucky enough to secure players from

Canada, USA, Italy, France, Sweden and Finland for the 2008 season.

This will be the Dunedin Thunder's first year in the league and they will take on the TicketDirect Southern

Stampede and the Canterbury Red Devils in the first round in Dunedin on the 14 and 15 June.
