The search is on for New Zealand’s Greatest Cake!

Its New Zealand Idol meets Top Chef but with better icing as the hunt begins for New Zealand’s Greatest Cake. And much like a reality TV show the winner will be decided by public vote.

The country’s premier baking-recipes website, Blokes Who Bake, along with Champion Flour, is inviting cake connoisseurs all over New Zealand to vote for their favorite gastronomic delight. Will it be lovingly crafted in a little local bakery, or will one of the big city cake creators take out the title?

Prizes for the baker of the winning cake include 100kg of Champion flour, a case of wine, links and advertising through the Blokes Who Bake website and the glory of being crowned the inaugural winner. As an added incentive, everyone who votes for the cake that goes on to win will go in the draw to pick up $500 cash.

Voting is via and closes November 30th. The lines are open … so where is your favorite cake?
