Outward Sound Recipients Round Four 2008

Outward Sound is pleased to announce the fourth round of grant recipients for 2008.

A Phase Two grant, providing the opportunity for in-market performances and related business development, was awarded to Collapsing Cities (to release and promote their debut album Elixir Always in the UK).

Phase One in-market touring and market development grants were awarded to Kora (to expand their market to Europe), to Luger Boa (to promote the release of their debut album Mutate or Die through Warners in Australia); to Batucada Sound Machine (to send band’s manager to the UK to meet with their new label Acrobat, and to attend WOMEX world music tradeshow in Seville followed by the Australasian World Music Expo in Melbourne); to Agent Alvin (to showcase and further develop contacts in UK and Europe); to Kylie Harris (to attend SXSW and to promote and market the release of her album Love, Lessons, and Lies in the USA); to The Rabble (to help promote and market the release of their album The Battle’s Almost Over through Crusade Records in Australia); King Exports (to attend Midem); and to Don McGlashan (to perform showcase performances and meet with potential labels in the UK, Europe and Canada.)

Applications for the next round of Outward Sound grants close on December 15th 2008 at 5pm.
