Just two days remain to visit the stunning Fiona Hall: Force Field at Christchurch Art Gallery.

Australian artist Fiona Hall is renowned for transforming ordinary objects and materials into complex and allusive works that are witty, humorous, ironic and fiercely critical. This spectacular exhibition provides a compelling and in-depth survey of Hall’s practice from the 1970s to the present - including several new works created especially for this exhibition.

Toured by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney in partnership with City Gallery Wellington, and curated by Paula Savage, Gregory O’Brien and Vivienne Webb, Fiona Hall: Force Field has attracted large and appreciative audiences since its opening at the Gallery three months ago.

“It is easily one of the most popular exhibitions we have offered in recent times,” says Gallery Director Jenny Harper.

“Although Fiona Hall: Force Field has already been exhibited in Australia and other New Zealand cities, we’ve been delighted by the high level of interest here in Christchurch and the very positive reaction to Hall’s amazingly diverse works. It’s been a wonderful opportunity for Christchurch people to see this artist’s work at first hand.”

Fiona Hall: Force Field will be at Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu until 5pm on Sunday 15 February 2009.

Exhibition organised and toured by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, Australia and City Gallery Wellington, New Zealand.
