BBC Worldwide and Prime bring Survivors to NZ

Brighton / Sydney: Major new contemporary drama Survivors will air on Prime Television in New Zealand following the conclusion of a significant content deal between Prime and BBC Worldwide Australia, it was announced today at BBC Showcase.

Survivors (1 x 90 + 5 x 50) is the thrilling new drama set in the aftermath of a devastating virus, which has wiped out most of the world’s population. Starring Julie Graham (William & Mary), Max Beesley (Bodies, Hotel Babylon) and Paterson Joseph (Green Wing) Survivors is a stunning re-imagining by Adrian Hodges (Primeval) of Terry Nation’s classic 1970s drama.

A strong selection of entertainment, factual and lifestyle shows is also included in the deal.

New comedy series No Heroics (6 x 30, from Tiger Aspect Productions) is set in an off-duty pub for superheroes, and follows the lives four heroes who can only be described as B-list.

Adventurer Bruce Parry makes his debut on Prime with his latest series Amazon (6 x 50, an Indus Films / Endeavour co-production) while in Special Forces Heroes (4 x 50) we re-live tales of rescue from the UK’s military elite. Make My Body Younger (8 x 60, from Two Four Productions) takes young people on an incredible journey inside their own bodies to find out the damage they are doing to themselves with alcohol, cigarettes and bad diets, while Blood & Guts – a History of Surgery (5 x 50) reveals the failures as well as the triumphs of science in its pursuit of medical knowledge.

In Beachcomber Cottage (5 x 60, from Tigress Productions) ex-Royal Marine Monty Halls attempts to live off the land in a remote Scottish croft. And chef James Martin mingles with the locals and perfects traditional French dishes in James Martin’s Champagne (5 x 30) and James Martin’s Brittany (10 x 30), both Eagle Media Productions for UK Food.
