The Varukers - 30th Anniversary World Tour 2009

PUNK ROCK ROAD TRIPS in association with ACT UP PROMOTIONS presents

The Varukers
30th Anniversary World Tour 2009
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
From their beginnings in the frenetic Punk Rock heyday of 1979 London, The Varukershave been at the forefront of the English punk scene for nearly three decades. They are, and always have been the genuine article. Founding member and vocalist Rat has been relentless, never giving up and never surrendering.

The Varukersare more than just a survivor of that iconic music era; they are a crucial part of it. With an impressive history including 30 years of touring, recording and appearances on dozens of compilations, the music is still as raw and as current as it ever was. Evolving from the traditional sound of ‘UK 82’ to the more contemporary ‘d-beat’ thrash, The Varukers still set the standard for what punk always stood for: The community of ‘do it yourself’, passion and protest.

If there is such a thing as a punk rock ‘A-list’ of musicians, then the current Varukers line-up must certainly be a contender. Not only do they feature two members of London’s ‘Sick on the bus’, but in between Varukerscommitments, Rat also fronts legendary UK heavyweights Discharge, but that, as they say, is another story…

In celebration of their 30th Anniversary, Punk Rock Road Trips in association with Act Up Promotions are proud to present The Varukersin Australasia. A limited edition tour CD will be available at all shows and pre-sold tickets are a punk friendly $20. With eleven shows across two countries, The Varukers will be playing a town near you. Don’t miss your chance to see the real thing: honest, in your face UK Punk Rock.
