New Cooking Site Cooked.co.nz Launches

Sunday, 12 April 2009 – Wellington – Cooked.co.nz launches as a place to discover and share recipes with friends and the world.

Cooked provides a place for foodies to find inspiration, discuss recipes and post their own along with a photo of the finished product. While the are many websites offering free recipes Cooked aims to build a community of food lovers.

"I recently started learning to cook and found myself looking for inspiration as well as a place to share my culinary creations" said Michael Dowse, the sites creator. "There are a lot of sites offering free recipes but I found these often didn't turn out as promised. Cooked prevents this by requiring members (who are called Chefs) to post a photo with each recipe."

Discovering new recipes is a breeze. Recipes can be browsed by recently added, Chef or tag. New features are being added regularly and feedback on the sites future direction is being sought from members. The site was initially targeted at students learning to cook but has appealed to a wider audience.

Cooked is being developed by Dunedin based web entrepreneur Michael Dowse (http://michaeldowse.name).
