Tension Building in Lead Up to GA Ticket Launch

New Zealand’s pre-eminent heavyweight boxers squared off last night in the run up to public ticket sales opening for the Fight of the Century.

General admission tickets to New Zealand’s Fight of the Century go on sale tomorrow (Friday June 12).

Tension between the fighters is mounting as they step up their training regimes ahead of the big bout.

“Dave’s had his time. This is my time now,” said Cameron.

“Whether it goes one round or whether it goes 12 rounds – I don’t care – I’m ready to go. I’m going to stop this man inside the distance.”

Tua said he believed the October 3 bout at Hamilton’s Mystery Creek would be Cameron’s last fight.

“I’m really going to hurt you, and I just appreciate you for allowing me the opportunity.”

Tickets to New Zealand’s Fight of the Century are limited to 4,000.

At least 1000 tickets will be priced between $69 and $99 ensuring the fight isn’t out of reach for the average Kiwi fight fan.

Event promoter Duco Events has secured Shane 'CHOPPA' Chapman vs Soulan Pownceby for a Light Heavyweight bout and Robert Berrich vs Harry Venka for a Middleweight bout.

Bonnie Pointer of the famed ‘Pointer Sisters’, who sang at the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali in 1974, will take the stage at the ‘Fight of the Century’.

Colonel Bob Sheridan, arguably the world’s leading boxing commentator will travel from Las Vegas to call the fights.

‘Once Were Warriors’ star Temuera Morrison will MC the evening.

Further entertainment acts and undercard fighters will be announced in the coming months.
