We are officially
the kindest country in the world on September 1 as
New Zealand is the only country that celebrates a
national
Random Acts of Kindness Day.
Here is a list of things that we know are happening around the country. Although tons more is going on but we will no doubt read about it after the fact…

Between 12noon – 2pm
• Free
wax hand moulds symbolizing people’s act of
kindness.
• The Mayor will also do his hand and will
use his mould to auction at later stage for charity.
•
Giveaways of t-shirts, gift vouchers and coffee
vouchers
• Customer Service team will hand out Balloons
and windmills
• Mini–make-overs and hair styling
• Security helping elderly with trolleys, groceries
etc.
• Face painting

Wilson carparking –
Auckland & Wellington
1 days free parking to 10 lucky
customers at
Farmers, Kitchener Street & Anzac Avenue car
parks and also Queens Wharf in Wellington.

Giving away lunches to 10
people at all of their stores

shoppers in the CBD with giveaways and…
• Car washing
in one of the inner city car parks
• Shoe shining in
the main street by local business people and councillors
• All day businesses will be handing out or doing
random things (flowers, lollies, baking, discount cards,
free product, cleaning people’s spectacles)
•
Handing out muffins and mini chocolate bars (donated by
Cadbury) to travellers arriving at the airport
• BNZ
will be offering homemade baking treats to their customers
at morning and afternoon tea
• A local business owner
is delivering/donating 100 pairs of pyjamas to needy
children through the Napier Family Centre (contact details
can be provided on request)
• A clown (from Auckland
that Napier Inner City Marketing is paying to come to
Napier) will entertain children at 3 venues: Children’s
Ward at HB Hospital, Taradale High School Learning Centre
(for children with disabilities) and Sunny Days Early
Childhood Education Centre

City Councillers with assistance from Dunedin City
Baptist Church will be RAKing people with flowers, free
shoe-shines, movie passes, pool passes and more to passersby
between noon and 2pm
