Diana Krall to Perform at Villa Maria Estate

October 13, 2009

Grammy award-winning jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall will be heard through the grape vines at Villa Maria Estate when she brings her Quiet Nights World Tour to New Zealand in February.

The Canadian talent will be joined by New Zealand musicians Madeleine Peyroux and Melody Gardot and accompanied by the 42-piece Auckland Philharmonia orchestra, performing beneath the stars at Villa Maria’s Auckland vineyard on Saturday, February 20, 2010.

Diana Krall is touring New Zealand for the first time with concert promoters ‘A Day on the Green’ in support of her twelfth album, Quiet Nights.

A Day on the Green is a successful series of outdoor winery concerts throughout Australia and New Zealand. This will be the fourth consecutive year that Villa Maria has teamed with A Day on the Green to combine quality music, fine wine, food and location for an unforgettable concert-going experience.

Reviews for Diana Krall’s Quiet Nights tour have been uniformly glowing with The Los Angeles Independent writing “…nothing was musically impossible with Diana Krall’s easy and sublime performance” and the Winnipeg Sun called it a “…flawlessly executed performance from all concerned.”

Joining Diana on her Australasian tour is the soulful and enigmatic Madeleine Peyroux. Her latest album offering, Bare Bones, follows previous albums Half the Perfect World and her million plus selling breakthrough album Careless Love.

Rounding out the phenomenal touring line-up is Melody Gardot, who recently took Australia by storm during a short promotional visit, including two sold out showcases, in support of her new album My One and Only Thrill.

Exclusive dinner and show packages will be available through Villa Maria Estate to make this rare concert experience even more memorable. For Diana Krall Quiet Nights Concert Packages, contact Villa Maria on 0800 566 556.

Tickets are on sale from 9am, Friday, October 23. Please contact Ticketmaster on 0800 111 999 or visit www.ticketmaster.co.nz.
