Global launch of myheartwill.com

THE STORY

Welcome to the global launch of a groundbreaking, unique new website, myheartwill.com.

Imagine being able to create your own emotional legacy capturing the essence of who you are.

Imagine being able to send dedicated messages to your loved ones to mark future events and occasions when you may not be there.

We call this legacy a Heartwill. Your Heartwill can be passed on to your loved ones or shared now. It can depict your life through a collection of memories, from everyday thoughts to significant events and dedicated messages.

The memories may be key turning points, heart-felt moments or even just reflections of ordinary life, which come together to give a sense of who you really are.

You can use various media to create your Heartwill – words, pictures, video or recordings. These are stored in a private and secure space online, keeping alive memories that may otherwise perish or fade with time.

This is myheartwill.com.

It is part of today’s culture of online social media sites, but promises to be significantly different.

Facebook, MySpace and Twitter have changed the way we communicate, allowing connectivity and instant updates between people far and wide. But myheartwill.com works on a deeper, more thoughtful premise. As a platform that grew from altruistic origins, myheartwill.com is a welcome new proposition in the increasingly conscience-driven consumer market.

It began when New Zealand media entrepreneur, John Barnett, heard about the concept of a Heartwill through friends Jill and Emily Margo.

Jill and her daughter Emily described the creation of a Heartwill in a small book called Living On: a guide to living on in the thoughts and memories of those you love.

myheartwill.com broadens this concept by offering a private and secure online mechanism to store and protect precious, personal content, enabling you to send dedicated messages to your loved ones in the future. It does this with state-of-the-art functionality and a platform that allows users to build their Heartwills in their own time. In this way, they grow organically.

Unlike many other forms of online social media, privacy is a key priority for myheartwill.com. Heartwills you create are only accessible to your loved ones, who are given access to them when you decide. In this way, an online Heartwill can function as a time capsule. myheartwill.com enables you to nominate a “Guardian”, someone you choose to look after your Heartwill when you are no longer here. Through your instructions, your “Guardian” administers access to your Heartwill for loved ones you have nominated as “Visitors”.

myheartwill.com can be purchased for a subscriber fee of US$199 for ten years, and can be renewed thereafter by you, your Guardian or a Visitor. myheartwill.com has a dedicated help desk that will respond to subscriber enquiries within 48 hours.

myheartwill.com is the beginning of new trend that recognises the potential of social media to create something of deeper, more permanent value.
