Inaugural 2009 Dream Dance Awards

Inaugural 2009 Dream Dance Awards

promises to be a night of spectacular performances on November 7.

Street Dance New Zealand (SDNZ) is presenting an evening showcase to honour some of Aotearoa's and the world's best street dancers and legends.

Ennaolla Paea, SDNZ director, says that each year,
the New Zealand dancers have exceeded the world's expectations
and added to the country's achievements and reputation on the international dance stage.

'As the country's dance community constantly grows, we believe in acknowledging those who are paving the way as role models for the next wave of performers,' she says.

Due to popular demand, SDNZ has secured the large Destiny's Church venue in Mt Wellington.

The awards showcase follows on from the success of the annual SDNZ National Dance Championships in Auckland and the Hip Hop International's World Dance Championships in Las Vegas earlier this year.

Among the nominees are the World Hip Hop 2009 Varsity champions ReQuest from Penrose and last year's world varsity champions Sweet and Sour from west Auckland.
