Live at Six: Congratulations to the select few

We told you to book. Did you listen? Apparently so, because the only Live at Six show we've got spaces for is the extra Saturday matinee we have on at 3pm... any other night and you'll be heading for the waitlists- which, by the way, seem to always get people in to the show! They are pretty small at the moment so you gotta be in to win!

Maybe you'd like to follow our advice and book for the second STAB show too - it opens on the 10th November. It is quirky, mysterious, and the characters could be right from a Murakami novel... and I keep seeing Elephants everywhere around town. Email us in your sightings and you could win a double pass to the next STAB show's opening night. Congratluations to James M Maddock, who won tickets to Live at Six this week.

Oh, and one more thing - are you in charge of your Staff Christmas party? BATS has some crazy good shows from late November, and some sweet deals for corporate groups - email me back and I will send you more info.

Live at Six is a newsroom thriller, examining the intense rivalry between New Zealand’s two major television news programmes. When a scandalous video of one TV News anchor is leaked online, the competing stations use the same footage to create two vastly different news stories, each pushing their individual agendas and racing towards that 6pm deadline – all in real time and live on stage.

Themes of rivalry and manipulation are expressed visually in the editing process as the editors struggle under real time pressure to reach the deadline, the rest of the cast must contend with newsroom politics, exploited friendships and fraying tempers. The same question is on everyone’s mind: who leaked this video, and why?

Live at Six stars some awesome actors - Grant Roa (Whale Rider), Phil Grieve (Bridge to Terabithia, King Kong), Michele Amas (Duggan), Phil Vaughan (What Now, Big Wednesday) and Nathan Meister (Black Sheep, Under the Mountain) and a whole lot more...
