LAWRENCE ARABIA “A Decade of New Zealand” Tour

LAWRENCE ARABIA “A Decade of New Zealand” Tour.

Ten years on from the technological apocalypse of the Y2K bug, Lawrence Arabia announces a tour to celebrate the aspirational decade of change that was the atrociously named “Noughties.”

My hope is that this tour will be a time to reflect on our achievements as a nation over the past ten years – the inauguration of Kiwibank, broadband internet, the fight against P, the unprecedented successes of Scott Dixon in the US Indycar Championship – all of these milestones reveal a nation in the ascendant; a maturing, confident archipelago that is punching far above its weight. – Lawrence Arabia.

Lawrence will be taking his five piece band on the road with him for these four celebratory New Zealand shows, the last opportunity to see the band before they head to the UK in January to begin a world tour in support of the release of “Chant Darling,” which is coming out on UK indie label Bella Union (Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Dirty Three)
As well as celebrating the achievements of New Zealand over the past ten years, this tour will also be a particularly great chance to hear the songs of Lawrence Arabia in the live setting, including the recent APRA Silver Scroll winning “Apple Pie Bed” and other songs off the acclaimed “Chant Darling,” his self-titled début and The Reduction Agents’ “The Dance Reduction Agents.”
