New pastors welcomed at Destiny Church Brisbane
Over 100 committed members and local supporters turned out to welcome the new pastors of Destiny Church Brisbane at a special meeting last night.
Of Te Arawa and Ngāti Tūwharetoa descent respectively, Pastor Phil and Patty Kingi have been appointed the new pastors to the church. They have been involved at leadership level within the Destiny movement for nearly 10 years.
Church spokesman Richard Lewis says the movement was committed to the ongoing success of the Brisbane church which has been reflected in the expedient leadership transition and the strong show of support from local members towards the new pastors.
“We believe our church will appeal to Kiwi’s and particularly Maori who are well numbered in Brisbane. The new pastors carry the Destiny vision strongly and have the experience to move this church forward so we are very excited about the future,” he said.
Bishop Tamaki plans to visit the church towards the end of the month in keeping with his pre-planned schedule.
