NEW ZEALAND DANCE Mar '10

Well this month seems to be all about Festivals. In Wellington the International Arts Festival is in full swing and the Fringe festival has just finished. Congratulations to Crows Feet for winning the award for best dance in Fringe.

Coming next are Pasifika Festival and Dunedin Fringe, both with heaps of dance. And Tempo dance festival is asking for expressions of interest for their festival in September.

Meanwhile DANZ workshops have started around the country. There is a variety of topics for those involved in all styles of dance and some really experienced tutors. Thank you to Creative New Zealand for supporting DANZ workshops and making them affordable.

Mentoring

One of the valuable services we offer to DANZ members is the DANZ Mentoring Programme. A mentor can act as a guide or someone to spring ideas off. The programme can be used for areas such as skill development in aspects of producing a new show, dance company growth, strategic development or career pathway direction. You can be mentored by someone you would like to work with or DANZ can suggest a mentor. Find out more on our website or call Tania Kopytko (04) 802 0534 or Susan Jordan (09) 370 0482.
