A mere six months after his highly praised shows, Justin Townes Earle returns to New Zealand to beguile us again with his storyteller charm, stage swagger and stellar songs. This time Justin travels further south to share his brand of Americana with Christchurch in his own headline show before alighting the Wilco tour bus for shows in Auckland and Wellington.
The bar has always been
set pretty high with his namesakes (songwriting legends
father Steve Earle & Townes Van Zandt), but not a standard
this man has shied away from. Justin Townes Earle two
critically revered albums (The Good Life - 2008, Midnight At
The Movies - 2009) and garnering reviews that would make
most musicians weep!
“pure talent and a winning stage presence”
A great voice, less country and more cosmopolitan in tone. But it’s the range of styles that impress most, from slow cowboy ballads and Western swing to full-throated honky-tonk, Tin Pan Alley and exquisite break up songs…” – UNCUT
“Not too many second-generation musicians can hold a candle to their elder, but oh boy what a refreshing creative talent this young man is!” —Maverick
“I have a feeling that in a few years we’ll need backstage passes at the Ryman auditorium to get anywhere near him. He’s just THAT good.” —Chattanooga Times Free Press
“you're missing out if you skip JTE when he comes to your town.”
