Part of the 2010 International NZ Comedy Festival – www.comedyfestival.co.nz

Kiwi comic Benjamin Crellin has a reputation for creating cutting edge stand-up with an amusing satirical tone that resonates from his incredibly twisted social conscience.

In The Games We Play, Crellin explores all elements of being a player – from the games we used to play as kids - GTA 4, to the original Dungeons & Dragons; with hop scotch and elastics in between, through to the mass manipulations of the “real” adult world – SIMS, World of Warcraft and Halo.
With the gaming industry now eclipsing all other entertainment mediums combined . . . it’s high time to take a step back and have a good laugh at our obsession with the games.

Crellin has now moved to the status of a global comic, having recently moved to the UK to be a full time comedian on the tough British circuit. 2010 will see Crellin headlining top UK clubs such as The Komedia and The Stand and performing in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Newcastle, Glasgow and Sydney Comedy Festivals.

Although his act paints a portrait of society from a humor palette of far darker colours than most comics, Crellin’s intelligent, subversive, socio-political style is carving him a reputation as a solid, consistent comedian with something to say!

4.5 STARS - (Times Colonist, Victoria B.C) “like a cross between Lenny Bruce and Dennis Leary with an angry smart guy vibe that is all his own”

4 STARS - (Edmonton Sun) “Despite his rant, his humor never falters. It’s not often that a comic routine stimulates both the funny bone and the mind. We talked about this show well after we left the theater”
