Book My Show’s Top Ten Movies of the Week

Book My Show’s Top Ten Movies of the Week

Boy continues reign as New Zealand’s version ‘Slumdog’

Auckland, 28th April 2010: New Zealand made ‘Boy’ continues to dominate online ticket sales on BookMyShow.co.nz, New Zealand’s only movie ticket aggregator.

The Book My Show Top Ten Movies of the Week were released today and reflect the top ten movies purchased through Book My Show over the last seven days.

Having been Number One since its release on 25th March and still outselling its nearest rival 3:1, Boy has risen from nowhere to be a Slumdog Millionaire style hit.

With relatively little promotion, Boy has largely succeeded on “word-of-mouth buzz, supplemented with some Kiwi patriotism to support a local success story”, says Matthew Preen, General Manager of Book My Show.

3D is also continuing to be a major player in cinemas up and down the country, with three films in the top ten.

Please see below for the full top ten movies booked in New Zealand in the last week.

1. Boy
2.
3. Dear John
