SANTA MONICA/ NEW YORK/ NEW ZEALAND: 5 May 2010: One of the most accomplished performers of the last decade, Christina Aguilera has been confirmed to take the stage at the 2010 MTV MOVIE AWARDS. Aguilera’s performance of “Not Myself Tonight” comes days before the release of her highly anticipated album Bionic. In addition, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Jonah Hill, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Steve Carell, Miranda Cosgrove, Shaun White, Vanessa Hudgens, Sean “Diddy,” Combs and Russell Brand are the first presenters to be announced. Hosted by Aziz Ansari, the 2010 MTV MOVIE AWARDS will be broadcast LIVE from the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, CA and premier on MTV NZ on 7 June at 7.30PM (NZ Time).

“MTV has always been a supporter of my music and my career and I am so excited to perform once again on the Movie Awards. My performance comes just days before the release of my album Bionic,” said Christina Aguilera.

With 30 million albums sold worldwide and the prestigious honor of being the only artist under the age of 30 included in Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of the 100 greatest singers of all time, five-time Grammy Award winner Christina Aguilera will be releasing Bionic on June 8th, 2010. Bionic features songs co-written by Aguilera along with her much buzzed about collaborations including Sia, Tricky Stewart, Polow Da Don, Le Tigre, Hill & Switch, and Ladytron among others.

The final nominees for the “2010 MTV Movie Awards” in 13 returning and all-new categories will be decided on by the fans. From March 29th – April 9th, viewers can visit MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote their favorite films, movie moments and actors into the final list of nominees. Then, the winner voting period commences from May 12th – June 5th. The 2010 “MTV Movie Awards” and “MTV Video Music Awards” will be available to a potential viewing audience of more than 1.2 billion people via MTV's global network of 64 channels reaching 641 million households around the world as well as through syndication. In addition, its convergent programming and content will reach the entire interactive community, via MTV's more than 200 digital media properties around the world.
