Twentyone Live N Free Presents Nathan Haines

Twentyone Live N Free Presents Nathan Haines This Thursday Night

SKYCITY’s hottest bar, twentyone, is presenting Nathan Haines THIS Thursday night (3 June). Entry to the gig is free with entertainment starting at 7pm.

With seven solo albums to his name, four of those released internationally, and guest spots on hundreds of releases, Nathan Haines has been at the forefront of modern soul, jazz and electronic music for over 20 years.

While albums Squire for Hire (certified Gold in New Zealand) and Soundtravels produced in London by Phil Asher remain classics both here and in the UK, Nathan has also recorded with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, as well as guesting on Jamiroquai's last album.

Nathan's new album "Heaven and Earth" was released in March to great reviews and features the same core line-up who joined Nathan at April's Java Jazz Festival, the world’s largest festival of its type with 100,000 people attending. Drawing on ten years of playing and recording in London and across Europe, Nathan's band fuses multi-musical genres, and also features brother Joel Haines on guitar, Mickey Ututaonga on drums, Karka Turua bass and seasoned keyboard man Alan Brown.

"It's all about the live setting for me" says Nathan. "This line-up pushes me to new heights because everybody always plays from the heart". Watch out for their new music video ‘Pathway’ - the first single from ‘Heaven and Earth’ and featuring vocalist Kevin Mark Trail - well known for his work as singer in the UK band ‘The Streets’.
