Kiwi Ingenuity to help Gulf Oil Spill
New Zealand operated company, Oil Services, is proud to announce that 100 percent of profits from the sale of their first Patented Underwater Oil Vent Containment Device will be donated to the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF).
"The sale of our product raised $101 dollars which will be going to help clean up the Gulf of Mexico," Oil Services CEO Alexander Waters said today.
The Patented Underwater Oil Vent Containment Device was offered for auction on Trade Me. During its time on the site it garnered over 52,000 hits, 1000 watchers and 50 bids.
"We set out to raise awareness of the problem in the Gulf, poke fun at BP for the horrendous job they have done in the aftermath of the tragic explosion and ultimately to generate some cold hard cash to help fix the problem," Mr Waters said.
"Congratulations to the generous Aucklander who bought the Patented Underwater Oil Vent Containment Device. Rest assured you will be reciveing it in the post sometime soon.
"Oil Services thanks Trade Me for letting the auction run and all the people who commented and bid on the auction in the spirit it was intended.
"We hope that everyone who bid and everyone who commented can spare a few dollars to support this worthwhile cause."
Mr Waters said that Oil Services was proud to support GNOF because of its record of getting shit done and it?s commitment to helping clean the fuck up outta the Gulf of Mexico.
"It would be good if you could help make a difference to the biggest man-made environmental disaster the world has seen in a while by going to the GNOF site and donating a little bit," Mr Waters said.
However, it is also a sad day for Oil Services.
"Because of our tight operating margins and high research and development costs we have had to dissolve the company with only this product sold," Mr Waters said.
The team here at Oil Services is committed, due to a voodoo curse, to help raise awareness about issues such as this. We can guarantee the New Zealand public that we'll be back someday soon.
