Recently claims have been made about the cost of travel in Fiji. Fresh concerns have been raised around hefty pricing for tourists and the increased cost of goods over popular travel periods.
“Our customers are heading to Fiji, in fact year on year we’re seeing an increase in Fiji travel – this year our bookings are up 16% on the same period in 2009. After last year’s recession, people are concerned about keeping costs down, especially for families with children,” says Brent Thomas, House of Travel Retail Director.

“Travelling to Fiji doesn’t need to be expensive,” continues Thomas.

Take snacks

• If you want to look outside of a resort, holiday homes are a great alternative and perfect for large groups and families. It can not only work out cheaper but also mean you have more room.

Be prepared
• Ensure you have all necessary items, such as sun block and towels. Avoid paying extra for necessities when you get there.

Shop around
• The best value souvenirs aren’t usually the first thing you find – Fiji offers some great markets and shopping around is all part of the fun in finding that perfect souvenir.
