Play gets serious with the final table insight on

Day 3 of the NZPT Queenstown – SKYCITY Alpine Adventure

Players from around the world were lining up outside the SKYCITY Queenstown Casino for Day 3 of the New Zealand Poker Tour Queenstown – SKYCITY Alpine Adventure building their strategy for making their way onto the final table.

50 players sat down at the tables at 12.15pm including 15 from the Auckland leg of the tournament and 35 from the Queenstown leg. The day was kicked off by SKYCITY Auckland’s General Manager of Casino Operations Ejaaz Dean giving the call of, ‘shuffle up and deal’ and starting what turned out to be an exciting day of poker.

Action came just 15 minutes into the day with Kani Edwards from Rotorua who had made it through to the final 15 in the Auckland leg knocked out by Lee ‘Final Table’ Nelson who had a pair of kings against Kani’s pair of tens. Just over ten minutes later Australian pro player and tour points leader Tony Hachem was knocked out after losing to a four of a kind of sixes.

Players were dropping like flies until play reached the final 15 players who will come back and play down to the Final Table on Sunday 25 July and then down to the winner.

A notable loss to the field was Lee ‘Final Table’ Nelson who busted out just two spots short of getting into the prize pool. Remaining players include Bryan Huang from Singapore and Robert Wang from New Zealand who are all still in with a chance to take away the first place prize of NZD $73,630.00

Play will commence for the final day at 12:15pm on Sunday 25 July at the SKYCITY Queenstown Casino.
