Award winning opera stars sing for Sarah Lilli

Sarah Lilli Family Concert

For the second year, the Sarah Lilli Fund is pleased to be able to present a family concert filled with talented performers and designed to entertain people of all ages.

This year’s exciting line-up features opera singers Ben Makisi and Aivale Cole, Donald Armstrong from the NZSO with String Quintet, and other young musicians, dancers, singers and circus performers.

The performers are donating their services to support the Sarah Lilli Fund set up in memory of Sarah Lilli Payne who died suddenly of a rare brain disorder soon after her 10th birthday. The Payne family established the Fund with Barnardos to give other children the kind of opportunities Sarah had and by doing this celebrate her life.

The Fund helps children in need to pursue creative, sporting and other interests, or to enjoy a special celebration or holiday. More than 600 children have received grants from the Sarah Lilli Fund since its inception in 2006 for things like camp fees, sports equipment and programmes, dance and music classes.

DATE: Saturday 21st August 4 – 6pm, with intermission
VENUE: Queen Margaret College Hall, 53 Hobson Street, Thorndon, Wellington
TICKETS: Children $10 (up to 16); Adults $25; Family Pass $60 (2 adults & 2+ children)

Due to the generosity of the performers and the support of Barnardos, all monies received will go directly to grants for deserving children.
