adidas releases exclusive Silver Ferns supporters range

For the first time, New Zealand netball fans can deck themselves out in official adidas Silver Ferns supporters gear.

adidas has just released a range of women’s T shirt, polo shirt and track top in the national team’s black and metallic silver colours and featuring the iconic adidas logo and stripes and – of course – the silver fern.

The silver fern on the clothing is the same stylised emblem that the Silver Ferns have been wearing since adidas redesigned their uniforms after coming on board as their official apparel provider last year.

Their striking new look was designed and developed in conjunction with the players themselves, in line with adidas’ global product development policy for elite athletes.

The fashionable yet practical design has been widely praised by the players, the media and the public.

“Since the new team strips were launched before last year’s playing season we’ve had a lot of fans asking how they can get hold of complementary gear,” says adidas marketing manager Nadia Scott. “We’re sure they’ll be happy with this stylish range with its feminine touches and practical uses.

“We’ve taken all the iconic features of the Silver Ferns kit and developed them into a series of flattering designs especially for their loyal supporters.”

Raelene Castle, Netball New Zealand Chief Executive, says the Silver Ferns are excited about their first official supporter wear range. “It’s great for them to have something that netball fans can wear to show their support! These garments feature flattering long lines that can suit a range of body shapes and they look great.”

The official Silver Ferns supporters track top (RRP $100) features the famous adidas triple stripe along the sleeves, a metallic zip and the words “Silver Ferns” printed across the front in a silver script, as well as the new Silver Fern emblem and adidas logo. Its main material is stretch French terry cotton and it is 95 per cent cotton and 5 per cent elastane.

The short-sleeved official Silver Ferns supporters polo top (RRP $70) also features the adidas triple stripe and logo and the silver fern emblem. Its main material is cotton pique and it is 95 per cent cotton and six per cent elastane.

The official Silver Ferns T-shirt (RRP $50) has a flattering scoop neck with silver stitch detailing and features the “Silver Ferns” script, the silver fern emblem and the adidas logo. Its main material is cotton jersey and it is 92 per cent cotton and eight per cent elastane.

All are available in ladies sizes 8-18 from selected stores nationwide.
