Know How Can Do

Know How Can Do

An idea simmering away on the back burner for eighteen months is now at a hiss and a roar thanks to the energy and vision of two good Kumeu blokes

Bob Price, Manager and Neil Killgour, Trade Sales Manager of PlaceMakers Kumeu took on a project for “A good cause and a good challenge”, and have coordinated more than forty suppliers and tradespeople from the West Auckland region to contribute skills and materials to complete a fully transportable house. The house, designed by Bruce Campbell Design, is a functional and light filled three bedroom weatherboard home, with features such as louvred windows, a tiled bathroom and tongue and groove doors. It will be finished with quality fittings, appliances and an interior colour scheme designed by Maddren Homes.

Come October 9 which is also World Hospice Day, the house will go under the hammer with a low $10,000 starting bid, and all proceeds from the sale will go to Hospice West Auckland and The Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Auction day promises to be a star-studded event with family fun and activities from 10am and a BBQ and Devonshire Tea on offer. The auction, outside PlaceMakers on Main Road, Kumeu starts at 1pm. For further information see:
