Night Of Courage Tickets On Sale Now

Tickets are now on sale for Auckland Cup Week’s exclusive opening evening, the “Night of Courage,” being held at Alexandra Park on Friday, March 4th.

The night, which will support the Child Cancer Foundation, will be hosted by well known racing personality Michael Guerin with special guest Steve Price, who along with several Alexandra Park drivers will shave his head during the evening.

The night will also feature interviews with talented trainers and drivers, live and silent auctions, a guest appearance from Buzzy Bee and all the entertainment of the Pascoes Northern Oaks. The evening will be held in Alexandra Park’s elite Tasman Room and will include a gourmet buffet.

As well as being the opening event for Auckland Cup Week, the night also opens the Child Cancer Foundation’s National Appeal Month.

The Foundation is aiming to raise $1 million during March to support children with cancer and their families. Three children are diagnosed with cancer each week in New Zealand and collectively undergo a total of 75,000 treatments and procedures annually. Beads of Courage Day street collection is on Friday, March 25th.

Steve, who is an ambassador for the Child Cancer Foundation, has taken on some big battles in his time as a footballer, playing for the Bulldogs, Queensland, Australia and latterly, the Warriors, but says none of his challenges have been as difficult as those faced every day by children with cancer.
