The Big Get Together is Back at the Otago Museum

The Big Get Together is Back at the Otago Museum!

The Otago Museum is getting the best out of the last days of summer! On Sunday 27 March, the Museum Reserve will once again be the place to be as your Museum turns up the dial for The Big Get Together 2011. With great live music, cool stuff and electrifying entertainment, it’ll be Otago’s very own action packed day in the sun, and best of all – IT’S FREE!

On the main stage there is bound to be something for everyone! Children’s performers Gerry and the Crocodettes will set the party going, and Computers Want Me Dead – New Zealand’s next big music act are set to rock the stage. Dunedin’s own folk sensation Baba Yaga and up-and-coming gritty blues and rock band The Sea Beast will keep the entertainment continues throughout the day.

It’s crazy acts galore, as Basketball Jones juggles from a 1.8 metre unicycle, Caricaturist and cartoonist Stu Duval sketches up a storm, while Highly Flammable goes actively wild with ‘Flabba’s Circ-aerobics’. As well as all of that, don’t miss the robotic stilt walkers, martial art demos and the big balloon-a-ganza finale!

Not just a concert, there’ll be plenty going on to keep the whole family entertained throughout the day. With an inflatable obstacle course, bungy tramp, bouncy castles, little ponies, storytelling and more, it’s set to be a fun-filled day on the Reserve! Otago Museum’s own Manu the Moa and Dee-dee the Dinosaur will be on hand, as well as the University of Otago’s Chemistry experiments and Discovery World Science Shows. OUSA will also be on hand collecting for the Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
