Royal Easter Show Launches New Turbo Boost Ride

Royal Easter Show Launches New Turbo Boost Ride In New Zealand

The new Turbo Boost ride at the Royal Easter Show is so scary that some people might need to wear nappies!

The Royal Easter Show is celebrating 100 years at ASB Showgrounds between 21 and 25 April 2011.

As part of these celebrations, a new ride – of which there are only three in the world with these specifications – will be there to entertain what will probably be the hardiest of souls.

Turbo Boost comes via Waikato-based Mahons Amusements, who have been testing the ride since its arrival in the country, and they give it two big thumbs up. We’ve seen it in action and it is serious hardcore fun!

Turbo Boost travels at 120 k/ph and pulls 3.5Gs!! It’s got two long arms that spin 360 degrees, round and round until you lose your lunch or beg to get off. (Seriously there’s a time limit on the spinning!)

The Royal Easter Show’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RoyalEasterShow has a video of Turbo Boost and is running various competitions, one of which is to win one of 10 passes to ride on Turbo Boost.

For all the serious carnival fans, the Royal Easter Show is running a carnival and sideshow special. Entry into ASB Showgrounds will be free every day (except for Monday 25 April) after 6pm. You can then ride on the carnivals until 11pm. You still need to pay for the rides but not entry into ASB Showgrounds.
