Share a moment with Hospice this week
Today marks the start of Hospice Awareness Week (16-22 May) and with the Christchurch earthquake still fresh in our minds, it is a timely reminder of just how precious life is.
"The fact is we don't know what is around the corner for us to face, it's so important for us to cherish those we love and to remind them of this often - its little gestures that will do that," says hospice patron and Ambassador Jo Seagar.
To celebrate
awareness week, hospice is giving everyone the opportunity
to send a free e-moment via the hospice website
"We created the e-moments campaign in 2008 as a way to share our philosophy of living every moment with New Zealand. E-moments are just like e-cards which are creative and personal and excitingly, completely free of charge to send," explains Jo.
Since its creation, more than 3,000 moments have been sent throughout New Zealand and the world. There are many uses for e-moments, to say thanks; I love you, happy birthday, get well soon or no reason other than to show someone you are thinking of them.
Technology is a great vehicle for spreading the living every moment philosophy, creating something good and making people smile - all the while spreading the word about the unique care and services provided by hospice.
There is no cost attached to sending an e-moment thanks to our friends at Dilmah who provide a donation to make this possible.
Hospice Patron Jo Seagar is encouraging everyone to get behind this campaign and send an e-moment "it won't take very long, costs nothing and means so much to the recipients - why not send a few e-moments and live every moment".
