The Bartercard Foundation – Applications for support open

NEWS RELEASE
For immediate release, May 2011

The Bartercard Foundation – Applications for support now open

Bi-annually charities are able to apply to become the recipient of the Bartercard Foundation funds to enable them the brand recognition and national prominence to aid in their plight to get mainstream recognition. We are now taking applications to find a recipient charity for 2011-2013.

Bartercard has long supported charities by allowing members to donate Trade Dollars to charitable causes. Since launching the Bartercard Foundation we have been able to raise a significant amount of Trade Dollars for our chosen charities.

The Bartercard Foundation supports charities that are struggling to get national prominence yet have a great cause. The Bartercard Foundation assists by helping the charity raise Bartercard Trade Dollars, which they can spend on national promotions to raise cash from the mass market. One Bartercard Trade Dollar is equivalent to one New Zealand dollar.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 3rd June, 2011. A shortlist of charities from applications made will be asked to present to The Bartercard Foundation board, with one charity chosen as the recipient of the foundations support for the next twoyears.

Please visit www.bartercard.co.nz to find out more about the application process.
