Conflict levels on high given earthquake


“Issue of conflict are on high in Christchurch given the earthquakes” said Tracy Scott mediator with Mediation Services.

“Mediation can assist with resolving all levels of conflict which arise due to crisis such as earthquakes”, she said. “Mediation is the most cost effective and effective means of dealing with relationships, emotions and conflict” Tracy said.

“In the challenge of rebuilding our city after the devastation of the earthquakes dealing with relationships and heightened emotions becomes an integral component of addressing issues of conflict” she said.

“Mediation services can assist to deal with conflicts between individuals and in large group situations”, she said.

Mediation Services will be conducting an upcoming Mediation Awareness and Skills Training on 12th and 14th July, from 9-1pm each day at a low cost to the Christchurch Community of $50. This will give individuals, businesses and organisations an opportunity to learn more about how community mediation can help you while providing some effective conflict resolution skills.
