Date My Dad

Date My Dad

Radio station More FM Wellington and online dating website FindSomeone (www.findsomeone.co.nz) have launched a campaign to find Wellington’s top single Dad and his perfect match.

The campaign aims to flush out great examples of fathers who are fantastic role models for single male parents. According to a report by the United Kingdom’s department for work and pensions, New Zealand has the highest rate of working-age people relying on a single parent benefit in the developed world.

Solo dads often deal with negative perceptions about their commitment to being a responsible and involved single parent.

More FM’s Dan Boyd said Date My Dad was a way to help get some great solo Dads into the limelight and celebrated for doing a sterling job for their families.

“Single dads who are looking after their kids, holding down a job, and running a household have lots of demand on their time and they’re no doubt battling to find the time to go out on dates and find someone new – that’s where Date My Dad can help.”

The campaign kicks off today and More FM is encouraging kids to say thank you to their single dads by nominating them for ‘Date My Dad’.

Kids or anyone who knows a top single dad only have two weeks to nominate them at www.morefm.co.nz
.

Once the #1 dad is decided, FindSomeone will take the hard work out of finding that someone special to go on a date with Wellington’s most eligible dad.
