Civic Events, proud promoters of the annual Winery Tour announce the dates and venues for the 2012 Winery Tour series. The artist line up for the 2012 tour will be announced as usual around the end of October.

Now in its sixth year, the Winery Tour is a firmly established and much loved national touring event. In 2012 it will include 16 shows in 14 venues nationwide.

There is one new venue for 2012, as the Winery Tour’s Hamilton show moves to Vilagrad Winery – a spectacular vineyard and concert venue.

Says co-promoter Brent Eccles “In six years we’ve more than doubled the number of shows on offer; a true reflection of the popularity of this summer outdoor series. It’s a winning combination of great music, food & wine, surrounded by some of NZ’s most spectacular scenery – the perfect evening out with family and friends.”

“We have a terrific line-up of artists on board for the 2012 Winery Tour and we are looking forward to announcing that in October. It's going to be another fantastic series!”

The Winery Tour kicks off with its traditional opening show at Ascension Wine Estate in Matakana on Friday 3rd February and concludes at Villa Maria Estate in Auckland on Saturday 3rd March.

History:

o In 2007, the inaugural Winery Tour was launched nationally in wineries around New Zealand. The first tour presented Bic Runga and Boh Runga. The tour was a national sell out success of eight stunning wineries and estates from Matakana in the North to Millbrook in the South.
o The 2008 Winery Tour presented Brooke Fraser, Goldenhorse and Anika Moa. The tour was again a national sell out success, this time playing 16 wineries and estates throughout the country.
o The sold-out 2009 Winery Tour presented Dave Dobbyn, Anika Moa and Opshop, and grew again to 17 shows nationwide.
o 2010, the promoters reprised a concept from a decade ago putting three top kiwi performers on stage together to sing their own and each other’s hits: Finn/Runga/Dobbyn: Together in Concert. Boh Runga & Che Fu, also performing together, completed the bill. The run added Tutukaka.
o In 2011 two news regions were added (Dunedin and Central Otago) with a total of 19 shows. The Winery Tour presented Brooke Fraser, OPSHOP and Midnight Youth.
o The 2012 lineup will be announced in October.
