Star Studded Selection Up For Grabs At Sell Out Branson Event

Lunch for 10 people hosted by supermodel Rachel Hunter onboard Sir Michael Hill’s super yacht is just one of over 50 exclusive items up for grabs at the sell out Sir Richard Branson banquet dinner to be held this Thursday (20 October).

Globe-trotting billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist, Sir Richard Branson, will headline the ‘Bank of New Zealand Presents Sir Richard Branson Live in Auckland’ gala dinner which will feature a special auction to help raise funds for Outward Bound, as the organisation enters its 50th Anniversary year.

Bidders will be able to compete for a wide range of unique and high-value items including dinner with the Rt Hon John Key and the chance to get up close and personal with New Zealand’s greatest living icon - the Kiwi, at a Kiwi release with BNZ’s Save the Kiwi Trust.

For sports fans, rugby memorabilia signed by former All Blacks, a signed boxing glove from legendary boxer Muhammad Ali and a tennis ball bearing the signature of tennis legend and former world number one, Roger Federer are up for grabs. Music buffs are also catered for with the opportunity to land a guitar signed by U2.

Outward Bound Chief Executive Officer, Trevor Taylor, said it was exciting for Outward Bound to be associated with such a globally respected entrepreneur and philanthropist as the recipient charity of the event.

“Sir Richard’s ongoing efforts to make a difference in the world and push both mental and physical boundaries to achieve personal and business success resonate well with what we strive to achieve with our students at Outward Bound,” Trevor said.

“Our courses provide New Zealanders with an opportunity to actively step outside their comfort zones and gain a clearer understanding of what they are capable of achieving both within themselves and the wider community.”

The principal event of the evening will be, Sir Richard talking about ‘making it to the top’, giving guests attending the function a unique insight into his personal life story and how he strives to make a difference in both his and others’ lives.

Event organisers - Duco Events – said the event was a sell out and tickets had been in hot demand since it was announced that Branson would be visiting New Zealand.

As one of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs and philanthropists, Sir Richard founded companies including Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Blue, and Virgin Active, which employ 50,000 people across 30 countries with revenues exceeding $NZ25 billion. As a modern adventurer, he has also notched up a number of successful world record attempts including the fastest crossings of the Atlantic Ocean by boat and balloon, and the English Channel in an amphibious vehicle.
