The Datsuns promise five hot and sweaty summer shows in January and February, that will allow a sneak preview to the forthcoming (and as yet un-named) album that they have been working on through the last year. In August we had an early taste with Gods Are Bored blasting the airwaves, showing the band rocking as reliably as they always have.

The new album has partly been recorded in Dolf Datsun’s Gutterview Studios in his current home town Stockholm, and partly at Auckland’s own Roundhead when they zapped back for a RWC show at Auckland’s Queens Wharf in October. Those lucky enough to see the show would have seen the well oiled, svelte machine, delivering a heavy set on that sunny Friday evening in final week. This will be the group’s fifth album and released later in the new year.

2012 will be a busy year for Cambridge’s finest. Hard to believe it was ten years ago when they first took their rock to the world, the Datsuns will roadtest new material to lucky New Zealanders this January, before undertaking their usual extensive and zesty international touring schedule later in the year.

For those in Auckland the night before 2012’s Big Day Out – the Bacco Room performance promises to be thee hot sticky ticket on that night, and a chance to see them up close. Tickets strictly limited.
