Auckland Seafood Festival set to be the best yet

Press Release – 4th November 2011

Auckland Seafood Festival set to be the best yet

This years Auckland Seafood Festival is set to be the best yet! Held over the three days of Anniversary Weekend, this is New Zealands ultimate seafood experience, and the ultimate seafood feast.

Take yourself on a journey of seafood discovery — double the size, double the seafood, double the fun! The 2012 Auckland Seafood Feastival will be held on the 28th, 29th & 30th January 2012 at Wynyard Quarter. This vibrant addition to our expanding waterfront landscape will host three days of “fun, sun & seafood” in our BIG little city.

Our venue this year will incorporate both Halsey Wharf and the new Viaduct Events Centre, a combination which delivers extra space to house our ever-expanding Feastival, and of course amazing views across the Waitemata Harbour.

All in all, its a pretty great place to enjoy a huge range of New Zealands best seafood dishes. There are over 100 varieties of seafood in New Zealand, and more than 30 different species will be on offer at the feastival! You can enjoy over 90 dishes including crayfish, paua, mussels, oysters, scampi, whelks and of course many different varieties of fish. Top that off with all day music, loads of entertainment & competitions plus a great selection of NZ wine and beer and its hard to beat! Confirmed music headline acts for the event are The Fourmyula, Hello Sailor and Avalanche City.

Follow the Hapuku Trail around the festival and indulge in a wonderful seafood journey — take the Wild Seafood Challenge, let loose at Chowder Blues and Brews, scoot down Scampi Street, chill out listening to classic Kiwi music at the Sound Shell or retreat to The Lookout for the best view in the festival.
