The Big Get Together is Back And Bigger than Ever!

On Sunday 11 March the Museum Reserve will be rocking with electrifying entertainment, awesome live acts and delicious treats for all taste buds! Bring your friends and family and join us for this FREE community concert and all round great fun day out.

Hosted by More FM’s Nicky Rennie, the main stage will be rocking right through the day with performers from the weird to the wonderful, designed to delight all ages.

  • Get grooving with New Zealand’s very own children’s performers The Funky Monkeys
  • Grab a drum and join Rhythm Interactive as they drum up excitement with their interactive drum show, Drumania!
  • Be amazed by sword swallowing and fire juggling extraordinaire, Nick Steward
  • Get your toes tapping with Dunedin’s own Swing Riot, and covers band The Sea Beast


There will be plenty to keep your family excited and delighted all day, from face-painting, the incredible inflatable obstacle course and bouncy castles, plus horsey hoppers and mini pony and cart rides. Uncover the quirks behind The Big Get Together with our ‘Did You Know?’ trail for the chance to win!

Plus, venture into the Tropical Forest Hut to taste test tropical fondue, and sample the world’s stinkiest fruit... if you dare!

Adding to the excitement is entertainer extraordinaire Professor Panic with his Coat of 100 Pockets; Improsaurus a roaming theatre troupe, Discovery World science shows, explosive entertainment from Otago University’s Chemistry Department and brilliant balloon artists from Highly Flammable! Whew! What a line up – all in one day, all at the Otago Museum! ALL FREE!
