Stamps take a Tiki Tour of NZ

Stamps take a Tiki Tour of NZ

4 July 2012

New Zealand Post is heading off on a classic Kiwi road trip with its latest Kiwiana stamp issue.

Tiki Tour2 stamp sheet

A Tiki Tour of New Zealand No.2 features 20 stamps representing the quirky side of destinations throughout the country - each with a face value of 70c. The stamps are presented on a map of New Zealand featuring curiosities like a surfing cow of Taranaki, a guitar-playing fish in Southland and a penguin waiter in Wellington.

“We’ve gone for a light-hearted take on the landmarks and activities that make our country such a great place to explore,” Simon Allison, Sales and Marketing Manager of Stamps for New Zealand Post, says.

“The tiki tour is a New Zealand tradition - whether it’s towing a caravan or throwing your camping gear in the back of the car, we can all appreciate the sense of freedom and fun that comes from taking the scenic route to your holiday destination.

“At this time of year, the cold temperatures and lack of sunlight can get even keenest skiiers down. We hope this issue brings a little sunshine to the winter months and gets Kiwis looking ahead to summer,” Simon Allison says.

New Zealand Post is offering people the chance to win their own 10 day Tiki Tour of New Zealand when they buy any specially marked Tiki Tour No.2 product. The prize includes Maui Motorhome hire, return Interislander ferry crossing and $400 worth of petrol vouchers. Entries close 31 August 2012.
