New Zealand Fashion Week Announces Exciting New Event Partners

New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) is excited to announce Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development’s (ATEED) continued financial support for the weeklong event, joining a host of new and existing blue chip sponsors in supporting New Zealand’s only internationally focused fashion event.

ATEED’s sponsorship will continue to support NZFW for at least the next two years, reinforcing its commitment to supporting a diverse range of activities, which serve to enhance the region, consistent with Auckland’s major events strategy.

ATEED is a council controlled organisation, responsible for Auckland’s economic development and raising its international profile.

NZFW Managing Director Pieter Stewart says having the backing of ATEED is very reassuring given its major events success and expertise.

“I made some comments at the beginning of NZFW last year that challenged local and central government to show more support to the New Zealand fashion industry. Some of my comments were misinterpreted and taken to suggest the future of NZFW was in jeopardy; however what I wanted to make clear was that local government needs to support NZFW because of its importance to Auckland.

“NZFW and ATEED have developed a very positive relationship. Their continued support recognises NZFW as a significant annual event on the Auckland calendar and one it wants to see grow,” said Stewart.

ATEED Acting General Manager Destination Jennah Wootten commented, “We realise NZFW contributes significantly to Auckland’s reputation abroad and continued cultivation of NZ’s fashion industry. NZFW provides a dramatic and vibrant addition to our major events calendar showcasing Auckland’s diversity and emerging young talent.”

Bringing an event the size of NZFW to life is a huge undertaking andlike any major event in the country, a solid sponsorship platform is essential to the success of the event.

New partners include; BMW, TV3, Media Works Radio, Samsung, Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour, Stolichnaya Vodka and Louis Roderer Champagne, with more partners for NZFW and Fashion Weekend expected to come on board.

NZFW Brand Manager Myken Stewart said that despite the tough economic climate, NZFW has established itself as a premium event and a quality sponsorship property for a range of top local and international brands.

“Engaging big brands like these to join our existing list of partners, some of which have been on board foreight years, is confirmation that NZFW is an event that captures the attention of the country and delivers quality opportunities to leverage exposure and engagement.

“NZFW has also established itself as a leader in working with sponsorship partners, going as far as bringing a sponsorship guru to New Zealand each year to deliver a seminar on leveraging, to ensure they get the best out of the relationship,” added Stewart.

With eight weeks to go until the event, having these esteemed sponsors on board is a very positive development and both Stewarts look forward to seeing the contribution they add to the NZFW experience.
