Auckland Wind Orchestra - Concert Sunday 12 August 2012.


The Auckland Wind Orchestra will be holding it's next concert on Sunday 12 August 2012, commencing 2.30pm at St Chads Church, 38 St Johns
Road, Meadowbank.

The title of the concert is 'Red, White & Blues' - a celebration of American music. The concert will also feature guest vocal ensemble 'One Voice Choir' who will be performing a set at the beginning of the second half. The full programme is:

1st Half - AWO, playing the following:

Hoe Down by Aaron Copland
Prelude No.2 by George Gershwin
Selections from Old American Dances (3 Mments) by Robert Russell Bennett
Portrait of A Trumpet by Sammy Nestico (soloist: Laura Pendergrast)
Pageant by Vincent Persichetti

2nd Half

One Voice Choir

Then Auckland Wind Orchestra playing:

Shenandoah by Frank Ticheli
An American in Paris by George Gershwin
