Annah Stretton to show at Fiji Fashion Week

Annah Stretton has confirmed her participation at the fifth annual Fiji Fashion Week from 18-20 October.
After her eleventh hugely successful showing at last month’s Air New Zealand Fashion Week, Annah is looking forward to sharing her invaluable knowledge with the event and its emerging talent.

“I have been interested in working in the Pacific around creative platforms for the last few years both in New Zealand and in the island groups, so this opportunity is a perfect fit,” says Stretton who will be showing her Winter 2013 collection, Crush on You, fresh from the NZFW catwalk.

While Stretton is looking forward to trading spring showers for warm island weather, her focus will centre on the creative energy she knows exists among local fashion designers.

During her trip Annah will have the opportunity to share some fashion and business lessons with the Fashion and Design Forum being held at the Fiji National University this month. She will also attend a charity luncheon for Dilkusha Girls Orphanage.

FJFW marketing manager Brook Pannell told the Fiji Times that bringing Stretton to Fiji was a big dream not only because she is a hugely successful designer and businesswoman but also because her business acumen will create many inspirational lessons.

“In contrast with her serious business and philanthropy interests, her style is fun and frivolous,” Pannell says. “She is one of New Zealand’s most successful designers effectively competing on the world stage.”
