A Special Charity Day of wonder for Kids experiencing difficulties

Christmas Wonderland event 2012

2012 sees a sponsored special day for children experiencing difficulties. Groups from Cure Kids, Ronald McDonald House, Heart Kids, Kids Can, Canteen & Kidney Kids are looking forward to this special treat. The invitation has been accepted by almost 300 children who will be attending throughout the afternoon Wednesday November 28 , 1pm – 5.30pm

A breathtaking walk through a Christmas trail of over 150 decorated trees opens this week at the Rawene Community Centre in Birkenhead. The lavishly lit visual extravaganza with thousands of sparkling lights, creates a uniquely decorated festive fantasy world. where visitors actually step into the wonder that is Christmas - the lights, the trees and spectacle of it all under one roof are an unforgettable experience.

Every minute detail has been lovingly planned by a team of talented designers and decorators, all volunteers who began erecting the trees in August.

The vision first emerged back in 2000 when a small group excited by all things Christmas created a spectacular event where people of all ages could share the gift of Christmas and set off on that magical journey.

In 2010, 35,000 visitors enjoyed the event which has been extended by a further week in 2012.

The Rawene Christmas Wonderland is an unforgettable family experience widely regarded as the most visually stunning celebration of Christmas in New Zealand.

All proceeds are dedicated to the development of, and the services provided by the Rawene Community Centre, Birkenhead.
